The term “wired” is belittling from the existence of infrared, Bluetooth, and WiFi. As a symptom of it, we’re getting into wireless charging, which charges our smartphone battery without plugging it in. It’s a good move to avoid a messy atmosphere around us while working. To transfer files from PC to a mobile phone we need a USB or card reader, what happens if we left it back home. Don’t worry, we got an alternate wireless method to solve it.

Droid Over WiFi is a free & a small utility app for our Android phone, which can handle larger file transfer at an ease without any crash. It does what it says, “One button to start. Transfer, view, stream, rename, move, delete files and folders immediately over WiFi with any Browser and any OS.” You can do more than the listed features too.

Note: Android device with Droid Over WiFi enabled and desktop or laptop should be on the same WiFi network. Both devices should be connected to same router or access point.

Install Droid over WiFi to your Android phone, and tap on the Droid over WiFi icon to launch the app. You can find two buttons namely power on/off button and settings button, turn on your phone’s WiFi connection and tap the power button to get the URL & pin to connect.

Open any web browser(Google Chrome for best experience) on your PC, type in the URL displayed in Droid over WiFi app & enter the pin to log in. Once you sign in you can view your files on your web browser. You can use the upload button to upload files to your phone storage, download button to download files from phone storage and more options available to edit your files.

You can upload & download files with no size limit. Droid over WiFi has very simple user interface than other app in play store, significantly it doesn’t get crashed. If you would like to add something to this notification, share it with us in the comment section.
