BBM Available For Android Gingerbread Users

Blackberry is busy updating their BBM app for Android and iOS users. A few days back Blackberry enabled find friend feature on BBM, which allows us to detect which contacts in our Smartphone’s contact list are already using BBM, and allow us to quickly send them an invite to join our BBM contact list. And they promised that there are lots more features to arrive in coming days for the Android users.

As promised, Blackberry got a new update for Android users, which would make BBM to be more populated in number of users. As 21 per cent of the global Android phones are still running on Gingerbread version, and by making BBM compatible with Gingerbread version would increase the count of new users to the BBM community.

Jeff Gadway, BBM product head announces about the update,

Now, we’re pleased to share that it’s ready and will be available starting today. This means that Android Gingerbread users can start to enjoy the immediacy, privacy and control of BBM to chat and share with friends, family and people they work with. And for our existing BBM users, this release means that you can find even more of the people you want to talk to on BBM. Be sure to check out the Find Friends feature to see who has joined BBM that you may know – that’s found under ‘Invites’ in the bottom left hand corner of the BBM app.
