Ubisoft Hacked

Global video game publisher “Ubisoft” has been hacked, an email sent to all users, usernames, email addresses and passwords have potentially been accessed, and users are advised to change their password.

Ubisoft says,

We recently found that one of our Web sites was exploited to gain unauthorized access to some of our online systems. We instantly took steps to close off this access, to begin a thorough investigation with relevant authorities, internal and external security experts, and to start restoring the integrity of any compromised systems.

During this process, we learned that data had been illegally accessed from our account database, including user names, email addresses and encrypted passwords. It’s important to note that no personal payment information is stored with Ubisoft, so fortunately all credit/debit card information was safe from this intrusion.

They recommend the users to change the password in any other website, if they had used same or similar passwords to ensure user safety. Ubisoft had created its official support page regarding this breaching issue, to ensure further safety assurance to the users. User can make use of it by posting questions to Ubisoft.

Ubisoft Conclude the message with,

We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience that this may cause and we would like to thank you for your understanding.
