Dropbox is a file hosting site where you can store your files on cloud and has a Client software to access the uploaded files from your computer. You can store whatever media file like photos, videos, and docs, etc. Dropbox now has a worldwide users of 275 million people. Client software is available with Windows, Mac OS x, Linux, Android, iOS, Blackberry OS and also with web browsers.
Dropbox is now facing a vulnerability issues such as files containing Hyperlinks. So Dropbox makes many files not accessible because of the vulnerability issue.
The shared files which cannot be accessed are due to the following reasons,
- An user sharing a link to a file which is having Hyperlink to third party website.
- Any user or an authorized recipient clicks the hyperlink in the file.
- At the point referer header discloses the original link to third party websites.
These are just due to the “Referer Header” that allows webmasters to see who is referring traffic. Dropbox is now trying to restore the shared files from the user eliminating the vulnerability. In some days Dropbox will be active as before.
